Our Work in Action

Restoration Timeline
This is a typical log home restoration timeline, which may also include additional services such as mortar removal, rot repair, deck work, or other custom repairs as needed.

Delivery
Material Delivery
A significant part of our work involves coordinating logistics and transporting heavy equipment, materials, and trailers over long distances from our yard to job sites throughout the region, ensuring our crews have everything they need on time to keep projects running smoothly.

Prep
Job Site Prep
This includes removing gutter downspouts, exterior lighting, and erecting scaffolding.

Masking
Masking before blasting
We make sure to mask windows, flashing or anything that would get damaged by blasting with 6 mil plastic sheeting

Blasting
Stain Removal
We use only inorganic crushed glass media and carefully tune PSI to ensure a clean, consistent blast without damaging the wood.

Surface Prep
Additional Surface Prep
When blasting alone isn’t sufficient, we follow up with 60-grit sanding or using grinders to achieve a ideal surface.

Rot Repair

Borate
Borate Application
We apply multiple coats of a 10% borate solution to the bare logs, serving as both an insecticide against wood-boring insects and a rot inhibitor.

Stain
Applying Stain & Clear coat
We will apply two heavy coats of LogFlex Log Stain followed by one heavy coat of LogFlex Topcoat for long-lasting protection and durability.

Chinking
Seal Logs
We apply and brush in chinking to all gaps and cracks to ensure a seamless, weather-tight finish.

Walk-Through
Final Steps
We leave the job site cleaner than we found it, complete a final walk-through with the homeowner to ensure everything meets expectations, and then pack up and head off to the next log home.
FAQs
🪵 How much does it usually cost?
Pricing depends on the condition of the home, square footage, and what needs to be done. A full restoration typically falls between $20,000 and $150,000. Smaller repairs or maintenance projects cost less. Once we assess your home, you’ll get a clear and detailed quote with no surprises.
🕒 What’s the timeline for a typical project?
A smaller cabin usually takes five to seven days. Larger homes or jobs involving log repair can take two to four weeks. We factor in weather and logistics to make sure everything runs smoothly and on schedule.
🔨 What’s your process to remove old stain?
We use dry media blasting, which strips away old coatings and surface damage without soaking the logs. Unlike pressure washing, it avoids forcing moisture into the wood, which helps prevent long-term issues like rot or mold.
🎨 Can I choose my stain color?
Yes, we offer a wide range of colors from natural light tones to deep, rich browns. If you’re unsure, we can do a sample directly on your logs to help you decide.
💬 What if something goes wrong later?
We offer a two-year craftsmanship warranty and a satisfaction guarantee. If anything we worked on fails under normal conditions, we’ll fix it. We stand behind our work and treat your home like it’s our own.
💵 What are your payment terms?
We break payments into five equal parts of 20 percent, paid throughout the project:
- – to hold your spot
- – when we begin on-site
- – once blasting or prep is done
- – when we begin applying finish
- – after final walkthrough and approval
🧾 What payment methods do you accept?
We accept checks and cash.
